Introduction
Baby Ape Social Club is a collection of 5,000 NFT’s that took the Solana Blockchain by storm. Inspired by their fellow Bored Apes on Ethereum, the team has brought the Baby Ape Social Club to an island smack dab in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. Although it may just seem like another derivative project from the outside looking in, once you dive in you will quickly realize it is different from most derivative projects.
Utility
BASC was created with the same expert-level branding that their ETH Bored Ape counterparts have. Baby Ape Social Club was created around the Baby Apes on Dab Island. The story that the NFT collection is centered around was created by Micho Toshi and is quite captivating. It is displayed for all to read on their website and gives a plot for the NFT’s.
One of the main benefits of owning a Bored Ape Social Club is the exclusivity of the project. There are many big names who are a part of BASC including The Game, Zaire Wade, Bridge, Gary Payton Junior, Cypress Hill, Taurean Prince, illmind Producer, and many, many more well-known individuals.
BASC holders will have exclusive access merch only available to Baby Ape Owners. Members of the BASC team have a background in eCommerce and they plan to involve the community in the creation of their merch. BASC holders will also have access to Baby Ape Social Club-sponsored events. The BASC Team has stated that they would like to expand their Baby Apes into the physical world.
Team
BASC was created by an elite team. With backgrounds ranging from Hollywood executives to eCommerce, the Baby Ape Social Club Team has more than enough experience to follow through on their promises.
Micho Toshi, a former Hollywood executive turned screenwriter/NFT storyteller according to the BASC website, was in charge of creating the story behind the Baby Apes. The story did a great job of giving background for specific traits and adding a storyline to the overall collection.
sillylittledao did all of the dev work for BASC. According to sillylittledao’s Twitter, they are a team that helps people build projects on Solana.
Adam Christenson, better known as Pyrros to the BASC community, is in charge of marketing. According to his Twitter, he has a background in marketing. Pyrros handles a lot of the Discord announcements and community management as well.
Johnny Catsville is the community manager. He manages many of the giveaways in the Discord and although unclear, I believe he runs the BASC Twitter and Instagram.
Boink Boink is the artist behind Baby Ape Social Club. Boink Boink’s background is unclear from Twitter and their website, but the art he created has been welcomed by the Solana NFT community with open arms.
The Significance: What other projects(and buyers) can take away from BASC
BASC has been an unquestionable success. With a mint price of .9 Sol for the public and .8 Sol for whitelisted members, it was a relatively cheap mint. Since mint on December 12th, BASC has soared, seeing a peak floor price of around 17.5 Sol and currently sitting at 12 Sol, early investors have seen massive returns.
When looking at BASC’s success, you must ask yourself, what did they do differently? Branding. Baby Ape Social Club has been very intentional with how they have branded themselves. This has set them up for success because it allows them to stand out amongst the crowd. As I mentioned above, the BASC Team plans to release exclusive merch only for Baby Ape holders. A few projects have tried this, some have succeeded and some have failed. The projects that have succeeded, such as BAYC, have succeeded because they cemented their place as a sought-after brand. With the intentional marketing and top-level branding done by BASC, we believe they have the potential to become of high status and sought-after brand.
As we shift farther into digital reality and the metaverse, people will be looking for new brands and new ways to express themselves. There will be Nike-level brands created because of NFT’s and the metaverse. If Baby Ape Social Club can establish itself as a sought-after brand, its NFT’s value will skyrocket. It is a big if, but there has yet to be an NFT collection in the Solana Ecosystem to establish itself as a brand in physical reality.

One of the biggest emphases by Pyrros is under-promising and over-delivering. He believes too many projects overpromise and do not follow through. Because of this, he usually only gives announcements when things are complete. He will not talk about doing things, he will do them and then relay what he has done to the community.
Because Pyrros is not throwing out promises left and right, he has created a community that trusts him. People firmly believe in BASC, and have faith that Pyrros is working behind the scenes. This type of faith by members is what creates long-term success.
BASC is professionally run and has a team capable of doing what they have promised to do. Baby Ape Social Club is currently sitting at the 14th highest market cap out of all Solana NFT collections. Although many people believed this would just be another pump and dump derivative project, through the dedication of the community and the top-tier branding, Baby Ape Social Club has proved all the naysayers wrong.

If you plan on acquiring a Baby Ape Social Club NFT, we suggest you buy to hold long-term. As it is sitting, on December 25th, BASC is at a 13x from the mint. With this knowledge, it is unreasonable to be 100% confident that it will continue going up right now. But, with a strong team, long-term vision, famous holders, and community growing larger by the day, we are confident in this project in the long run.
