Stoned Ape Crew: The Evolution of Solana’s “Highest” NFT Collection

Intro

Stoned Ape Crew is a collection of 4142 NFT’s that has grown to become one of the strongest communities on the Solana blockchain. SAC offers a wide range of benefits including an intriguing staking system that equates to real-world value for weed connoisseurs and NFT collectors alike.

Stoned Ape Crew has amassed over twenty-five thousand Twitter followers and over thirty thousand total discord members. Considering the Solana Ecosystem has between fifty and one hundred thousand active traders, it is quite a sizable community. The floor price of these apes has been going parabolic in the last week, seeing a top of around 27 Solana. With a new and improved roadmap, a story that adds plot, many future plans on the horizon, and a die-hard community who all enjoy 420, we might just be seeing these apes blast off into the solar system very soon.

Utilities

Stoned Ape Crew has many features that set it apart from most projects. Some of these include unique role mechanics corresponding to traits on their NFT’s, staking, and an evolution system that simultaneously burns $PUFF tokens and adds to the collection. Many projects have released a utility token, but very few give their token real-world value. This combination of features is what has kept SAC NFT’s off the market, which has resulted in a rising floor price..

Stoned Ape Crew has five roles, the four special roles being Scientist, Artist, Business Man, and Farmer. Apes with traits make up 50% of their initial supply. The other 50%, with no traits, are called Chimpions. Apes with a special role gain double the $PUFF tokens from staking. This equates to 30 $PUFF a day while Chimpions only gain 15 $PUFF per day. Currently, if you were to stake a Stoned Ape Crew NFT, you would be making approximately 4$ per day in $PUFF at least. This specialization of roles is an interesting dynamic because the attributes of the NFT’s correspond to special utilities.

Furthermore, Chimpions can be upgraded and sent on a “retreat” for 333 $PUFF tokens, where they will have a 60% chance to gain a new role or will gain a new trait and hence add value to the NFT. While for 666 PUFF$ they can go on a special “DMT retreat” that has an 80% chance at a new role or will get more traits instead. This is a very interesting mechanic for holders because it allows for upgrades and also burns tokens at the same time.

The total supply of $PUFF is 420 million and the initial circulating supply via airdrop was 420,000. Hence, they have enough of a token reservoir for 25 years of staking for their project. The example on their discord is at a theoretical rate of 2000 chimpions sent to ‘retreats’ over a 2-week span they would burn over 1.2 million tokens (2000*333*2) in a one-month timespan, leaving less than 1million total tokens if approximately 80% of the NFT’s are staked. The circulating supply of $PUFF is currently unknown, but there are around 77,000 tokens listed on the DEX for under 1$ as of Jan 3. According to their discord, there will not be more than 5 million tokens in circulation at once in total.

Stoned Ape Crew intends to create real-world value for fellow weed lovers. One such implementation is the ability to buy legal weed from distributors with $PUFF. This is a massive step for the NFT community as it brings legitimate, in-real-life businesses into the Solana ecosystem. SAC is also in the process of creating their own strain of weed! If you have a passion for weed and NFT’s… this is the perfect project as it brings together a community of fun and passionate members. Furthermore, their roadmap 2.0 seems to bring even more real-world value to the table. They are looking to start Stoned Entertainment, create IRL cannabis accessories, make their own CBD and Delta 8 online store, and even open their own coffee shop in what we would assume to be Amsterdam! All of these factors come together to make the Stoned Ape Crew a very unique NFT collection that is centered around a deep passion held by a vast amount of people.

The Team

All from the DACH region of Europe (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), the original team consists of two artists and three developers. The artists have a strong background which includes working for major companies such as Volkswagen and Axel Springer. The three developers, who have worked in the cryptocurrency industry for 3+ years, have multiple large-scale projects under their belt. One such project included being a part of the creation of the largest anonymized COVID registration app in their entire respective country. This project has every tool they need to grow and become a massive NFT.

• ABO is one of the stoned artists. Working as a freelancer under the display name Drawingattention on Linked in, he focuses on helping with digital marketing for various projects.
• PFO is the Head of the Stoners and one of their developers. With almost 9 years of experience in the development and Web 3 space, he has spent the last 3.5 years working on solutions to provide an easy-to-use payment experience for customers and seamless integration for merchants under the company Salamantex GlbH.
• Although there is little information on their website, we know that APO is one of the stoned artists.
• MSF is the stoned lead Dev. His background is unclear, but he is “Bullish on thinking” according to his Twitter bio, and believe that's enough of a background.
• XIron_ChefX is a community manager for the Stoned Ape Crew. Hailing from Canada, it is obvious he must be polite.
• Kaz is the business dev for SAC. Passionate about crypto and stocks, Kaz has a background in consulting/advising and focuses on creating different marketing strategies for SAC.
• Max helps lead the SAC community and also helps as a developer. He promotes SAC and focuses on running their Twitter operations including managing the sales bot. As we assume most of this team is, he is a fan of Mary J according to his Twitter bio.
• Clemens is a strategist and analyst for SAC. With little background given, we are not 100% sure but we believe Clemens aids SAC by coming up with ways to present SAC to the public.

Closing Comments

Stoned Ape Crew is here to stay long-term in the Solana ecosystem, and we fully expect this project to continue to excel. So far they have delivered on their current roadmap and just released an updated version. The updated roadmap includes the creation of a DAO, special airdrops for special roles, the release of the SAC multi-planetary collection, and the release of the ever sought after Nuked Apes.

SAC has built an incredibly strong community. As mentioned above, they have over 25k Twitter followers and over 30k in their Discord. Not only are they large in size, but they are also passionate. If you have spent anytime at all on Solana NFT Twitter, you have probably seen an SAC as someone's profile picture. Their announcements in Discord get hundreds of reactions as well. This shows that people are in their Discord consistently and are paying attention to what is being said. All of these factors combine to make SAC holders an incredibly stout community that is involved and passionate about these NFT’s. Because of the relatively low supply, the large number of people passionate about Mary J, and their cornering of a niche market to include in real-life benefits to holders, SAC has become known by most in the Solana NFT community.

Furthermore, we believe we will see more collections follow suit to SAC and have special utilities based on unique traits. One of the most famous people in the entire NFT community, Gary Vee, has done a great job of incorporating this into his NFT collection. There are so many opportunities to take advantage of in this area and few collections have incorporated this. When examining gaming NFT’s alone, implications and possibilities are endless.

SAC is simply one of the most well-rounded and promising projects to be found in the Solana ecosystem right now. With an emphasis on real-world value and long-term growth, the Stoned Ape Crew still has room to grow. This project will be a large contender with other, more established blue chips in the near future and long term.
